Hot Wingz

Preview

It all begins with chicken wings, seasoning, butter and hot sauce! I have honestly perfected the art of making oven wingz but not without the inspiration of my oldest daughters grandmother. When I had become a young mother she began sharing recipes with me to help me cook for my family. This is not her original recipe that she shared with me as I have tweaked it a little over the years to my liking which in my opinion has made it better! These juicy wings are a game night must have and the best part of all is you don’t have to fry them, just throw them in the oven and forget them! I wouldn’t say they are healthier but definitely easier. These wingz are sure to be a staple in your family meals for generations to come!

INGREDIENTS

Chicken Wings 2-3 Lbs.

Season Salt 2tbs.

Pepper 2tbs.

Paprika 1tbs

Garlic Powder 1tbs.

Chili Powder 1tbs.

Butter 1/2 stick

Hot Sauce 1 cup

Vegetable Shortening or Oil 2tbs.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Grease the pan that the wings will go in, you can use a cookie sheet or a casserole dish. I suggest using a pan deep enough to hold the juices from chicken as it cooks.

  3. Season wings with season salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, and a drizzle of oil.

  4. Place seasoned wings on pan without overlapping as best you can so that each wing cooks to a perfect crisp.

  5. Bake for 45-50 mins and then remove from oven.

  6. Melt Butter in saucepan and gently mix in your hot sauce.

  7. Simmer sauce for 10 minutes.

  8. Dip wings in sauce mixture, place back onto pan and back into oven for 5 mins. *Repeat 2x or until desired crispness and spiciness.

  9. Serve with homestyle fries, veggies, and ranch on the side!

*For WET WINGS simply toss cooked wings in the sauce and do not put back in the oven.
